Fine dining at UH Maui College
Class Act is UH Maui College’s highly acclaimed fine-dining restaurant. It’s located in The Leis Family Restaurant on the grounds of the college. It offers a twice-weekly lunch, Wednesday and Friday (during the semester) with each week being a different theme.
Moroccan food
Morocco is on my bucket list of places I would like to visit one day. So I was delighted for the opportunity to have Moroccan food this week.
The students
The kitchen and wait staff are all students of the culinary program. They are graded on how they perform. Our waiter Jake was a little nervous and did an excellent job along with his fellow classmates.
The menu
The menu is price fixed and includes four courses. An appetizer, choice of soup or salad, choice of entree and dessert along with ice tea. You can bring your own bottle of wine if you choose. The grilled octopus appetizer was tender, the melon salad was refreshing and my grilled spiced NY steak were all delicious!
A fun time!
To tie it all together, my lunch companion Bonnie told me stories about her adventures back in the day around Morocco and Spain. How fun!
If you live on Maui and haven’t been to Class Act, I highly recommend. All the money goes toward the culinary program.
